Nehemiah was so much more than a man who built a wall. He emerged on the scene during a dark period of Israel's history and became a beacon of light and hope to the nation. He was a man of prayer, purpose, passion, perseverance, and practicality, and God used him mightily to accomplish an enormous restoration project in Jerusalem.
But Nehemiah's story is so much more. It is really God's story. It is a reminder of God's graciousness, compassion, and forgiveness for wayward people. God not only did a mighty work on the physical city of Jerusalem, but He also did a mighty work in the people of Jerusalem.
